My Work

Rabbit Bea - Website Design Experiment
(2021)

Class assignment

This website is to recall the small games when I was a child, but there are some differences from traditional games. I hope people can have more sense of game experience. Feel the new visual effects in the old story.

I used hand-painted forms to express the games, which makes the whole look brighter and the images softer. I created this using html5/css3 and Java.

Welcome to Netscape - Website Design Experiment
(2020)

Class assignment

I was inspired by Yahoo's early web pages from 1990s — the saturated colors, numerous font combinations, and plentiful animations. As a student of digital design I wanted to explore the aesthetic of that era.

I created this using custom html/css and illustrated all of the images myself.

Shake it Up - Website Design Experiment
(2020)

Class assignment

This is a promotional website with the theme of a street dance activity. I want to show its powerful. I used purple, which represents courage and enthusiasm, as the main color to set the tone. The content presented on the website includes the slogan, time, program list and ticket details of this activity.

I used html/css to make this website. The colorful logo, coupled with illustrations, stimulates the public's interest.

Confused Mood Lab - Pop-up Book (2022)
Senior Project

This book mainly tells about a college student falling into one puzzle after another, and gives suggestions to solve these problems. I use bright colors to express the colorful world, and confusion is just a gray memory of our colorful youth. I hope every confused person can slowly get out of the confused state, and let college life become what they want.

It is a handmade pop-up book. All of illustrations are created by myself.

Japantown Typography - Typography Design
(2021)

Class assignment

Japantown in San Francisco is very close to my apartment, and I often go there to have lunch and I really like it. Therefore, I can always find many interesting and special points, especially the different typefaces. I want to use this magazine to let more people feel the beauty of Japantown through these various typefaces.

The pictures in this project are all taken by myself. I wrote the history of Japantown and explained the difference of the typefaces.

The Idiot - Book Cover Design (2021)
Class assignment

This is a famous novel called Idiot which I read a lot of times. This book mainly tells people's understanding of idiots and we don't know who is a real idiot. I chose it to re-design a cover, which is a good opportunity to explain my understanding of this book.

No matter from the choice of font or the comparison of colors, I want to express the two meanings of the word "idiot".
